Katherine Lyman, age 83, a resident of Ranchos de Taos, passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2019.
She is preceded in death by her husband Fredrick P. Lyman and parents Walker Eldrige and Annie Lee Starke.
Katherine moved to Taos in 1970, she was very proud to be a woman moving to such a wonderful community. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church and was the owner of the Last Word Bookstore. Earlier in her life, Katherine became a Flight Attendant, a career she held for many years. When her husband Fredrick developed and suffered from Parkinson’s, Katherine devoted her time to care for him. Some of her hobbies included the love of gardening, handy work and time with her cat Grigio.
She is survived by her loving children Tim Lyman and Tom Lyman (Julie); grandchildren Christina Lyman, Jessica Lyman, Kuper Lyman, Chad Lyman, Chase Gunter; great-grandchildren Elaina, Bryson, and Emberly; her brother Tom Starke and dear friends Michael Ziomko and Barbara Castro, who was also her caregiver. Katherine will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends and those whose lives she touched.
Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. James Episcopal Church.
