In Loving Memory of Billy M. Lopez

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Billy M. Lopez, who passed away peacefully in Taos, New Mexico, on July 25, 2026, at the age of 47.

Billy was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and loved one. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Billy is survived by his three children, Mario, Bianca, and Noah; his mother, Jennie Chavez (Martin); his father, Billy Lopez (Vicki); his sister, Crystal (Antonio); his nephew, David; and his niece, Jasmine. He also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved nephew, Adam Casaus, and his grandparents, William and Merlinda Martinez and Melton and Dora Lopez. 

Billy had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time in nature. He also enjoyed working on cars and trading vehicles, which were passions that brought him great joy. Above all else, Billy loved being a father. His children meant the world to him, and the love he had for them was unwavering. His memory will live on through his children and through the many lives he touched throughout his journey. 

Billy was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 12 and faced many challenges throughout his life. Despite everything he endured, he remained a fighter. He fought every day with courage, strength, and determination, continuing that fight until the very end. 

The family would like to extend their deepest and most sincere gratitude to all of the staff at Holy Cross Hospital, including the doctors, nurses, and everyone who cared for Billy. Your compassion, kindness, and dedication during such a difficult time will never be forgotten. We would also like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the hospice team for the comfort, care, and support they provided to Billy and our family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Billy’s life was a testament to perseverance, love, and strength. Although he is no longer with us, his memory will remain forever in the hearts of his children, family, friends, and everyone who loved him. Rest peacefully, Billy. You fought your fight with courage and strength. Your love will live on, and you will never be forgotten.
