C. Leroy Trujillo

C. Leroy “Chencho” Trujillo 77, a resident of Vadito, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 30, 2019.

He is preceded in death by his parents Waldo and Refugio Trujillo; siblings, Waldo Jr., Luciano, Richard, Roberto, Emma Casados, Patricio and Jacob.

Leroy was a hard-working man.  He worked for the State of Nevada and the State of New Mexico as a miner for many years.  Eventually he returned back to the mountains of Vadito where he enjoyed cleaning acequias, going for wood, landscaping and gardening.  He also enjoyed butchering, making jerky and cooking.  Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He dedicated his time as member of the Knights of Columbus for many years.

He is survived by his children, Darlene, Leroy, Clifford (Valerie), Mark (Mary Owen); grandchildren, Apollonia Gallegos (Albert), Rain, Rio, Sierra, Bryanna, Uriah, Eliea and Emiliana Trujillo; great-grandchildren, Alexzavier Apodaca, Baylee Hotchkiss, Mia Trujillo and Zander Apodaca.  He is also survived by his brother, Santiago James Trujillo (Elaine), mother of his children Maria Olivia Trujillo and numerous loving relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday August 3, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at the San Antonio De Padua Catholic Church in Penasco. Burial will be held at a later date.
