Connie DeHerrera

Consuelo Connie DeHerrera , 86 a resident of Costilla, passed away unexpectedly on August 21, 2019

She is preceded in death by granddaughter Andrea Trujillo; great granddaughter Raelyn Trujillo; and parents, Antonio and Elydia DeVargas.

Connie was the heart of her family, she worked for numerous years for the US Postal Service as the carrier in the northern part of Taos County primarily in the Costilla and Amalia area.  She tended to the family farm and raised her children when her husband Valdemar was working at the mine supporting the family. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Consuelo is survived by her husband, Valdemar DeHerrera; children Lydia Peterson (Richard), Juanita Petra DeHerrera - Clements (Curtis), Catherine Taylor (Terry), Valarie Rael (Don), Valdemar JR DeHerrera, Nancy Crochet (Steven), Pamela Rodriguez (Lloyd), Josie Ramirez, Linda Romero, Bonnie Santistevan, 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Costilla NM. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Costilla NM.
