Daniel Herrera

Daniel Herrera, 35, a resident of Arroyo Hondo, passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2025.

Sunrise was November 17, 1989 and Sunset was May 28, 2025, Daniel loved to live in the moment. He will be dearly missed.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father Daniel B. Herrera; grandfathers Manuel (Papo) Romero, and Crespin (Pop) Torres; great-grandparents Armando & Rafelita Gonzales, Emelina & Leonardo Valerio, Delferio Romero, Ruben & Erlinda Herrera, Olivia Lucero, and Alfred Lucero, Sr; uncles Alfred “Duno” Lucero, Wilfred Lucero and Chuck Jeantete; niece Alessandra Torres; cousins Ernest Loya, Jose Romero, Viento & Andrea Herrera and Stacey Romo; close friends Jenna Trujillo, and Aaron “Shorty” Vigil.

He is survived by parents Alicia & Danny Torres; grandparents Beatrice Romero, Susana Torres, Dan & Mildred Herrera; stepmom Audra Herrera; siblings Arthur (Ashley) Martinez, Patrick (Rachel) Torres, Christopher (Destinni) Torres, Dazza, Bridgette and Savannah; auntie Michelle and Tio Eduardo “Piti” Cordova; nieces & nephews Jaycee, Aspen, JulieAnna, Myrella, Arthur Jr., Christopher Jr., Abel, Avery, Alonzo & Aalijah, Rudy, Jordan, Messiah, Madelyn Rose and Angelo; aunties & uncles Leroy (Esther) Romero, Armando (Haydee) Romero, Donna Torres, Albert Torres and Pat (Joesette) Torres, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins & friends; those he considered as “brothers and sister” Angelo, Santana, Enrique and Damian.

Public Viewing will be on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 2pm to 3pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 10:00 in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos, burial will follow at the Upper Arroyo Hondo Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Arthur, Patrick, Christopher, Angelo, Enrique and Damian. Honorary Bearers are Alonzo, Jordan and Messiah.
