David Mouer

David Edward Mouer, 77, of Embudo, New Mexico, passed away on June 6, 2026. He was born on January 25, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Raised in Pittsburgh, David fell in love with the West and moved to New Mexico in the 1970s, where it became his true and lasting home. A proud wildland firefighter, he possessed a deep and abiding love for the natural world. He found joy and purpose in its rugged beauty, protecting the landscapes that meant so much to him with courage and dedication.

Those who knew him will remember his sharp wit, his warm heart, and the way his humor could light up any room. Above all, David cherished his family and remained deeply committed to them throughout his life.

He is survived by his three daughters, Abby, Sara, and Aspen; his granddaughter, Lyra; his grandson, Joaquin; and his siblings, Michael, Daniel, Linda and Susan. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd; his mother, Bettye; and his sister, Cheryl.

A private service will be held with immediate family to celebrate and honor his life.
