Douglas Stanley Wright, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on August 6, 2026, after a long illness. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Charlotte Wright, and his sister Cynthia Wright. He is survived by his brother, David Wright and his wife Janet, his niece Kim Curtis and her daughter Abby Osburn. A special thanks goes to his devoted caregiver, Betty Walker, who faithfully looked after Doug in her home and was with him when he passed.
Doug was born on March 14, 1945, in Bethesda, MD. His family moved to Kansas City, KS and later to Emporia, KS, before settling in Raytown, MO. After Doug graduated from Raytown High School in 1963, he served with the Air Force Police Reserves. In the following years, Doug lived in various places including Missouri, Kansas and California, before settling in New Mexico, where he spent over 30 years.
Doug was a talented artist and draftsman. Throughout his life, a main interest of his was cars. Throughout his life, he owned many cars, vans and trucks. His favorite was a light blue 1966 GTO. His dream job was working for a company in California designing exotic cars.
Doug had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and has now found peace with His Lord and Savior.
