Edward Martinez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He was a man of unwavering strength, deep love for his family, and lifelong commitment to service.
Born with a spirit for adventure and duty, Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army, embodying the values of courage and honor. After his military service, Edward continued his path of dedication with the U.S. Forest Service, working to protect and care for the natural landscapes he loved. His bravery and tenacity then led him to serve as a hotshot firefighter, fearlessly facing wildfires and putting others before himself. Later, Edward applied his tireless work ethic to the demanding life in the mines, never shying away from hard work or a challenge.
Above all, Edward was a devoted family man. He shared 54 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife Cecilia, their bond a testament to enduring love and partnership. He was the proud father of his daughter Yvette, and a cherished grandfather to his granddaughter Sabrina, both of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life.
Edward’s life was defined by service—to his country, his community, and his family. His legacy will live on in the stories he shared, the lives he touched, and the values he passed down. He will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
