Eliu Herrera

Eliu F. Herrera age 88, a resident of Questa, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 19, 2019.

He is preceded in death by his grandson Jose Beto Herrera; parents Fermin and Ursulita Herrera; siblings Mable Trujillo and Riley Gaillour; brothers-in-law Virgil Trujillo, Tony Flores and Michael Gaillour.

Eliu proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.   He was a   successful General Contractor for many years, throughout Northern New Mexico.  Eliu kept himself busy with ranching and was a VFW life member.

He is survived by his wife Berlinda Herrera; children Gabriel Herrera (Novella), Louis Eddie Herrera (Elizabeth), Gregory Herrera, Myra Trujillo (Richard), Lawrence Herrera; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; siblings Aida Flores, Isabel Garcia (Ben); step mother-in-law Minnie Garcia; brother-in-law Jerry Garcia (Linda); sister-in-law Linda Sandoval; his caretaker Beverly Vigil and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited on Monday December 23, 2019 at 10:00AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Questa. Burial will be held on Tuesday December 24, 2019 at 11:15AM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
