Elizardo “El Pintor” Ortega, 78, a resident of Taos, passed away unexpectedly on October 9, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his father, Elizardo Ortega, mother Beatriz “Betty” Duran (†Lorenzo Esequiel); his siblings, Eladio Ortega, Roy Ortega, Angie Montoya (†Mel), Erma Arellano and Romaine Zamora.

Elizardo is survived by his sons, Joaquin and Aaron Ortega; mother of his son’s, Linda Duran; his siblings, Tommy Ortega, Dennis Ortega (†Connie), and Annabelle Archuleta (†Richard); plus, many other relatives and friends.
