Emma Lee Pedersen (Nee Adams) passed the week of June 09,2026 in her home in Taos, NM. She was born in Amarillo, Texas August 29, 1942. Her parents were John Silas Gail Adams and Edith Faye Adams (Nee Walton). She graduated from Tascosa High School in the spring of 1960 and was baptized at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Emma Lee was known as Emily and competed in several regional beauty pageants. She won the title of Miss Amarillo in 1960 and competed in the Miss Texas pageant. She left Amarillo after attending Amarillo College and moved to Detroit, Michigan, San Francisco, California, and Seattle, Washington, while working for United Airlines for several years. She returned to Northern New Mexico to be near her mother, who lived near the Sipapu resort, south of Taos, NM. Emily worked in Taos, NM, for several years as an accountant and "critter rescue" advocate. Emily was known for her extreme love of animals (mostly dogs and cats), her sense of humor and shining spirit. She will be greatly missed by her friends and her brother, Gail.
