Eric Larson was a true Taos spirit. Born and raised in Southern California, he followed his heart here and gave of it to all he met. He made new friends everywhere and introduced those folks to others who also became fast friends. His interests were wide ranging, and he indulged them all. He loved sports, skiing, hiking, disc golf. He was a thinker, writer, reader, art lover, co-creator of the Platform series on YouTube.
He countered the dark shadow of his military service in Viet Nam with generosity and love. The parties at his house were epic and he presided over those gatherings with his magical, Zen-daddy smile. He made the best brisket. The quiet dinner parties were full of deeper conversations where no subject was off limits and laughter flowed uninhibited.
Eric said goodbye to Taos on his own terms at the age of 77, surrounded by family and friends on March 12th after a short illness. He leaves us far too soon and we are grateful to have known him and to have shared our lives with him.
He is survived by his sons Lance and Jason, grandsons Luke and Jordan, along with his many, many friends.
Eric will be laid to rest with Military Honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on March 21st at 1:30pm. For those who wish to accompany the family in the procession to Santa Fe, we will leave DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos at 11:30am.
The family of Eric Larson has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. www.devargastaos.com 1-866-657-4019
