Esther Morgas

It is with great sadness that the family of Esther Morgas, a resident of Taos (Ranchitos), NM announces her passing on early morning of Tuesday, September 19, 2023 in Taos, New Mexico at the age of 86. Esther was born on January 18, 1937 in No Agua, New Mexico.

Esther is preceded in death by her Beloved Husband, Mariano Morgas; Parents, David Martinez, Alice Ochoa Goure and stepfather Victor Goure; Brothers David & Ruben Martinez.

She is survived by her Daughters, Martha Morgas (Leroy Chacon) & Nadine Morgas Lucero (Art Lucero); Granddaughters whom she raised, Genevieve & Breanna Rendon and Granddaughter, Esther Miers; Sisters, Dixie Goure Walls (Charlie Walls) & Denise Goure Romero (Richard Romero). She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family members.

Esther was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Even though she spent most of her younger years in Colorado, she spent most of her life in and called Taos her home where she met and married her Beloved Husband, Mariano. Esther devoted her life to taking care of her family. Esther was very strong and devoted to her faith. Esther was a Broncos fan and loved to dance. She will be deeply missed but forever be present in our thoughts and prayers.

A memorial of her life will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1309 Gusdorf Rd, Taos, New Mexico.
