Geno Trujillo, 59 of Taos, passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Carmen Bailon; sister Lucia Trujillo; beloved niece Victoria Padilla; mother-in-law Patricia Garza; brother-in-law Viento Herrera; cousin Larry Martinez; niece Christy Medina; grandparents Amadeo and Josie Trujillo, Cipriano and Helen Sanchez; uncle Juan (Jebby) Valencia; and many other relatives.
Upon graduating from high school, Geno served in the United States Airforce. After serving, he returned to Taos and began working in the construction industry until his passing. He adored his children, granddaughter, nieces and nephews. Geno was adored by everyone he met, no matter their background, he never met a stranger. He was a one-of-a-kind soul that left a mark on you no matter how long or short the interaction. He was a life lover, all life forms he respected, he was a man of deep faith. There will never be enough words mentioned to honor him. His absence has left a void in our hearts.
Geno is survived by his wife of 35 years, Celeste Trujillo; children Angel (Austin), Amadeo (Marissa), Abran, Autumn (Michael), Esperanza, Savannah, Miguel and Sara; his granddaughter Celeste; father Jose Abran Trujillo; sister Rayne Medina (Wayne), father-in-law Larry Herrera (Kathleen), brothers-in-law Cuauhte Herrera (Ashley), John Herrera, Larry Herrera (Adrien) and beloved dog Tokyo; goddaughters Luna Sharfin, Aliyah, and Mila; nieces and nephews Jayne, Elayne, Abrianna, Maddie, Selena, Pablo Medina, Alyssa, Citlamina, Emilio Herrera, Michael Herrera (Teyla), Felicia Herrera, Santana (Charles), Ernesto, Cedar, Luna, Santos, Sol Cisneros, Jacob Sanchez and Martina Pacheco; aunts and uncles Larry Trujillo (Bette), Gloria Trujillo (Larry), Lillian Trujillo, John Sanchez (Eva), Phil Sanchez, Judy Stenum (Brian), Olivia Pierman; close friend who he considered his son, Chris Gutierrez; and many, many other family and friends.
Rosary will be recited on Friday April 17, 2026 at 6pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. Funeral service will be held on Saturday April 18, 2026 at 10am in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos, with burial to follow at the Las Cruces Cemetery.
