Gerald W. Maestas

Gerald William Maestas was born on July 5th, 1984, and left this earth on November 19th, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Joe Ben, and Fay Griego, and his grandfather Joe Alex Maestas; and his Nino Alex Maestas Jr.

Gerald is also survived by his beautiful wife of 22 years Cassandra Maestas; children, Illona, Mercedez (Jerome), Tiffany and Max; Gerald is survived by his grandmother Josie Maestas; his parents, Master Sergeant (Retired) Fred Maestas and Pam Maestas; mother-in-law Catherine Hardin; his Nina Debbie Maestas; siblings, Timothy (Becca), Phillip Maestas and Leah Vigil (Allen); God siblings, Christopher (Maribel), Neil (Michelle), Abby, Michelle, Elizabeth Maestas, Miranda (Marcos), Jonah Vigil and Brianna Griego; he is survived by many aunts, uncles, and many cousins; He deeply loved his nephews Jadyn, and Joshua Maestas and nieces Mya and Ashanti Maestas (who were his favorites).

Gerald was a good man with a kind heart and a strong spirit. He was known for his dedication, always working hard to provide for the people he loved and never hesitating to lend a helping hand. Gerald carried himself with quiet strength, loyalty, and love for his family. Those who knew him will always remember his warmth, silliness, humor, and the steady presence he brought into everyone’s lives. His legacy of hard work, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were blessed to know him.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday December 13, 2025 at 11am in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.
