Geraldine Cordova, age 64, of Questa, New Mexico, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Geraldine was born on May 2, 1961, in Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Viola Sanchez, and her beloved brother, Ronnie Sanchez; mother-in-law, Emma Suazo, and brother-in-law Leonard Cordova.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Edwin Cordova; her daughter Adria Cordova and son Amos Cordova (Cassandra); and her grandchildren, Malachi and Zofia, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her siblings Arlene Sanchez, Annette Sanchez, Raynelle Sanchez, John Sanchez (Maida), Gary Sanchez (Maxine), and Steve Sanchez (Maryann), and her “abbalabbalab” sisters from across the street, June and Debbie Riddle.
Geraldine was a loving Godmother to Raynelle Sanchez, Shane Sanchez, Joaquin Romero, Elisha Cordova, Lucas Younger, Esther Ortega, Reina Suazo, Martin Cordova, and Jandé Liddell. She also leaves behind countless nieces and nephews whom she loved and cared for as if they were her own.
Geraldine lived a life deeply rooted in faith, love, and family. A devout Catholic, she placed her faith at the center of everything she did. Her unwavering trust in God guided her daily life, and she found peace, strength, and joy through prayer.
She had a profound appreciation for God’s creation and found happiness in the outdoors, whether hiking, tending to her plants and flowers, or simply enjoying the beauty around her. Geraldine also loved traveling, watching the 49ers, and going dancing. Above all else, Geraldine cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a caring tía. Time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, was her greatest joy and her most treasured blessing.
Geraldine will be remembered for her deep faith, gentle spirit, love of nature, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A Rosary will be held at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico. A meal in her honor will take place after the funeral mass at the Llano Quemado Community Center, #6 Miranda Canyon Road, Ranchos de Taos, NM 87557.
