Harvey Judges, longtime resident of Taos, NM, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at age 85. He lived an amazing, full, and rich life — and anyone who knew him would absolutely agree. He leaves behind a legacy of great stories, an unforgettable sense of humor, and a life filled with adventures.
Harvey wore many hats, and wore them all well. He will be remembered for his role as mine superintendent at the Questa mine (Molycorp); fixed-base operator, airport manager, and Mesa agent at the Taos airport; and later, the force behind The Tomato Ranch. He spent his later years in Melaque, Jalisco, Mexico, where he had a breakfast restaurant. Later, he and his wife Brenda spent time traveling and exploring the many small towns and places in Mexico.
He will be deeply missed by the countless friends and relatives in so many places and all those who were lucky enough to know him and share a laugh with him.
He leaves behind his wife, Brenda, passing away just 12 days short of their 61st wedding anniversary; his daughter, Susan of Tucson, AZ; and his son, Paul of Palo Alto, CA, along with Paul's wife, Deborah, and their two children, Phoebe and Chloe; and also his sister, Rosemary Doucett.
Per the request of Harvey, no services will be held.
The family of Harvey Judges has entrusted the care of their loved one to the caring staff of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. www.devargastaos.com 1-866-657-4019
