Bob Suter

d. May 2, 2024

Bob Suter, 74, of Angel Fire and Christmas Tree Canyon NM, passed away on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024.  Born in Dallas, TX to Jim and Wanda Suter, he was a graduate of Texas Tech University and a Red Raider through and through.   A man of many talents and interests, professionally he found his calling in banking while perusing many of the hobbies that defined him.  The cowboy spirit in him fed a love of horses and an appreciation for the outdoors called him to the mountains of Northern New Mexico and the lakes of Northern Minnesota, but he is perhaps known best for his winter pursuit: skiing. “Banker Bob” started skiing as a kid and never quit chasing beautiful turns.   His love of the sport compelled him to pass it along to others, first his children and then to countless others through a decades-long career as a Professional Ski Instructor. From his early days at Wolf Creek to Red River and finally his beloved community of Angel Fire, Banker Bob made countless friends from around the world passing along his passion for skiing and life. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Wanda Suter. He was survived in death by his son Rob and his wife Krystal, his daughter Kelly Woodland, her husband Rich and daughters Jaklyn, Edison, Kathryn, and Riley, and his siblings, Brenda Suter, Becky King, Bill Suter, and his horse Belle. In accordance with Bob’s wishes, no memorial services are scheduled at this time, but a celebration for life will be planned at a later date.  For more information on the celebration of Bob’s life, email bankerbobcelebration@gmail.com. The family of Bob Suter has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. www.devargastaos.com 1-866-657-4019
