Jose “Jimmy” “JT” Torres 75, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, surrounded by family.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother Anita Torres, sister Theresa Torres, his son Jamie Torres, and his granddaughter, Analisa Alicia Martinez. His grandparents Andres and Senaida Torres. His father and mother in-law, Joe and Elizabeth Casados. Brothers-in-law Gilbert and Michael Casados; as well as many beloved aunts and uncles, and other cherished family members who have went before him.
He is survived by his beloved wife Eloida Torres; their two daughters, Charlotte Martinez and Lucia Fernandez (Adam); his daughter in law, Darlene Torres. His sister-in-law, Angie Casados (Tim). His grandchildren Abigail “Abby” Torres (Jesus), Alexia Martinez, Kevin and Michael “Mikey” Torres, Jose and Santiago Herrera, Brianna Romero (Domonic), and Mia Fernandez, all of whom he cherished beyond measure. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved the great outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, camping, horse backing riding, or taking a ride on his UTV to explore new places. He proudly served in the Navy and National Guard. After returning home from his service, he married his high school sweetheart, with whom he shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. His grandchildren brought great happiness to his life and he took great pride in watching his family grow and thrive. He worked at Questa Mine for several years leading to opening his own electrical company, Torres Electric, which he owned and operated for 26 years. After retiring, Jimmy never stopped working hard. He continued to put his family first and spent his days enjoying outdoor projects and making memories with those he loved. He cherished the moments with friends and family with lots of laughter and many stories.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin and Mikey Torres, Jose and Santiago Herrera, Abby Torres and Alexia Martinez.
Jimmy’s legacy of love, strength, hard work and dedication to family and our country will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever be cherished, and he will never be forgotten.
Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 9:00am, Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00am, held at San Francisco de Asis Catholic church, with burial to follow at 12:30pm at the Angel Fire Veterans Cemetery.
