Jose Romero

Jose Romero, 41, a resident of Arroyo Hondo, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his loving family on May 23, 2024. 

He is preceded in death by grandparents Ruben & Erlinda Herrera, Henry & Viola Romero; Aunt Maya Romero; cousins Angelo Quintana and Viento & Andrea Herrera.

Jose is survived by his loving parents Anna Herrera; Andy Romero; brother Andres Romero (Soveida); Goddaughter Alicia Romero; Nieces Ashley Romero (Zach) & Andrea Romero; Great-Nephew John Michael Gaillour & Great-Niece Aaliyah Jade Gaillour; special friend Rachel Kuc; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Jose was a hard-working businessman who took great pride and honor of being voted “Best of Taos” Contractor of the year, 2 years in a row. Jose loved spending time with his family, camping, skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and boating. Known for his kind heart, quick wit, and infectious smile, Jose left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Jose’s journey, though brief, was marked by an unwavering spirit of kindness and a passion for life.

Rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 6pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Arroyo Hondo. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 10am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with burial to follow.
