Laurie Joseph (Hollywood) Silva, age 77, of El Prado, NM passed away on April 26, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Silva; his father, Jose Laureano Silva; his brothers Danny Silva, Fernando Miera and Mike Trujillo; great-grandson Jayden (Jojo) Silva; and his in-laws, Patricio and Loyola Martinez.
Joe was born in Taos, NM, was a proud Army Veteran, an avid outdoorsman, and a joker. He loved softball, hunting, bowling, playing poker, golfing and enjoyed riding his Harley. He was a graduate of Taos High in 1965, attended UNM for two years, then Joe enlisted in the United States Army, serving with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. Upon returning home after serving 18 months overseas, Joe started working for the family business, Silva’s Auto. While running the business, he received his bachelor’s degree in business from the Highlands University.
Joe is survived by his wife Anna Silva; his children Jon-Michael Silva (Shannon), Anna-Lisa Hoffman (Ralph), and Brittanny Paige Silva; grandchildren Janai (Alex), Dravin, Jarod and Jonathan; great-grandchildren Leilani and Alejandro; his siblings Agatha McCain (Estevan), Laura McConnell (Donald), Deane Silva (Paloma) and Jake Silva (Trish); his stepmom Beatrice Silva; brothers-in-law Leroy Martinez (Alyssa), David Martinez and his sister-in-law Amanda Vigil (Matt); several nieces and nephews, many family and friends.
Rosary will be recited on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 9:00am, Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church.
