Luis Herrera

Luis Herrera, age 36, a resident of Ranchos de Taos, passed away unexpectedly May 13, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his father Juan Herrera; grandparents David Manuel & Lytia Herrera, Ovidio Hernandez, and Dorothy Montoya; in-law Tim Martinez.

Luis had a big heart and cared for everyone, he was outgoing, friendly, and a person that would do anything for anyone. He will be missed by everyone whose heart he touched.

He is survived by his wife Martika Trujillo; children Jose Manuel Herrera and Santiago Juan Herrera; stepchildren Ashley Valerio, Deven Hammer, Kary Hammer, Bria Coca and Abby Torres; grandchild Jaiden Hammer; mother Esther Herrera; brother Tadeo Herrera (Devon); grandmother Bertha Andrade; in-laws Marcus Trujillo, Janett Martinez; plus many nieces, nephews, relatives and cherished friends.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday May 23, 2025 at 10am in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos, with burial to follow at El Descanso Cemetery.  A meal will follow at Daleee/KTAOS Center.
