Margaret Lane

Margaret V. Lane a resident of Taos, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on September 17, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cleotilde and Jose Leonardo Gonzalez; two brothers and five sisters; her children Richard Neathamer and Margaret Ann Lane; granddaughter Crystal Lane.

Margaret was born in Cañon and was the youngest of eight children. She was well known in the Taos area, she was a waitress for many years, serving at several local restaurants. She was very friendly and had a heart of gold. She will forever be in the hearts of everyone she touched.

Margaret is survived by her loving children, Cathy Thomas (Mike), Michael Neathamer, Maysel Castillo (Santiago), Charlene Aguilera (Rene), Charles “Boobito” Lane (Joe) and Heather Lane; her loving life partner, Hector Cantano; beloved niece and nephew Barbara Mondragon and Freddie Johnson; cherished grandchildren Jose Hernandez (Sarah), Laura Villanueva (Javier), Antonio Aguilera (Gisselle), Guadalupe Aguilera (Jon), Tiffany Tischner (Carson), Amanda Eggett (James), Rodney Thomas (Rainee), Noah Tafoya, Manuel Tafoya, Isaac Tafoya, Cindy Martinez and Melanie Martinez; 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited on Monday, October 6, 2025 at 6:00pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos, Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
