Maria Lugarda Sandoval

Maria Lugarda Sandoval age 90, a resident of Rio Lucio, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on November 17, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her husband Teodoro Sandoval; son Rocky Sandoval; 3 infant children, Tony, Ramoncita and Debbie Sandoval; parents Jose de Gracia and Maria Casados; brothers Jose, Nelson and Casimiro Casados; sisters Ercilia Cordova and Delia Lopez.

Maria is survived by her children Helen Sanchez (Bolivar), Ted Sandoval (Ameli), Christine Lopez (Harold), Lorraine Archuleta (Ruben), Eva Sandoval (Edward) and Diana Archuleta (Celestino); 19 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren; special grandson and caregiver Jeffrey Pacheco; plus many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and cherished friends.

Maria Lugarda had a great sense of humor and was loved by all.  She was known for making her famous tortillas.  She was a very spiritual person and went to sleep every night with her rosary in her hand.  She loved her dog, Teddy Bear and would do anything to protect him.  Her passion was collecting chickens and roosters.  Maria Lugarda will be missed by all.

Serving the family as Pallbearers are, Patrick Lopez, Jeffrey Pacheco, David Sandoval, Lucas Sanchez, Julian Archuleta and Isaac Pacheco.  Honorary Pallbearers are her sons-in-law.

Rosary will be recited on Tuesday November 22, 2022 at 6:00pm at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday November 23, 2022 at 11:00am at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Rio Lucio Cemetery.
