Marlene Abeyta

The family of Marlene Erica Abeyta of Ranchos de Taos is saddened to announce her unexpected passing on July 19, 2026 at the age of 44 years.

Marlene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Marlene had a big heart and always helped others. With her contagious smile and her beautiful dimple, she lived life with no regrets. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and made sure everyone was taken care of. Some of her favorite things included riding on the Harley; camping; water rafting and cruising the mountains on the side by side. Marlene was proud to be a grandma and cherished every moment she spent with her granddaughter; she could not get enough of her. Marlene was deeply loved and will be missed dearly by those who knew her. She has left an impact on everyone she knew.

Marlene is preceded in death by her grandparents, James Alford II; Adonias and Trini Romero as well as her father-in-law Jordan Medina.

Marlene is survived by her husband Sonny Abeyta; her children Marissa (Oscar), Jeremiah (Aliya), and Noah; Granddaughter Olivia; Stepchildren Angel (Jacob), and Sonny Jr. Father of her children Dominic Martinez; Parents, Pearl Romero Alford and James E. Alford III; Mother-in-law Frances Medina; Siblings, Joseph (Melissa), Jerome (Diego) and Brandon; her Nieces Evony, Milany and Haley (Dom). She also leaves behind her Grandma Juanita Alford; Aunts/Uncles, Nora (Ismael) Aguirre, Bob (Marion) Romero, Sandy (Ben) Fernandez, Delbert (Roberta) Romero, Naomi (Manuel) Gutierrez, Kathy Alford, Betty (Antonio) Martinez, Margie (Kyle) Berry, Billy Alford, Shirley (Tony) Rael, Connie (Lino) Ortiz, Maryjane Alford (Genaro) and Ricky (Linda) Alford; and numerous cousins and friends.

We hold the promise at Revelation 21:4 “Death will be no more…” and await to see our dear Marlene again.

A Memorial Service will be held in Marlene’s honor
