Max Romero

Max Romero 79, a resident of Llano Quemado, passed away peacefully at home on December 23, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents Juan & Eloisa Romero; siblings, infant sister Lillian Romero, Aurora “Guera” Martinez, Delcie Maes and Ricardo “Dickie” Romero; nephew, Paul Maes, Jr; great-nephew, Antonio Martinez; and brothers-in-law Federico Martinez and Arturo Trujillo.

Max was employed by and retired from the Taos Municipal Schools as a custodian.  He loved spending time with all his family, especially his nieces and nephews, who he considered as his own children.  He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by siblings Juan T. Romero, Tita Trujillo and Kathy Romo (Fernando); sister-in-law Bernadette Romero and brother-in-law Paul Maes, plus loving nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Funeral mass will be held on Saturday January 13, 2024 at 10am at San Francisco De Asis Catholic Church,  with burial to follow at the Old Llano Quemado Cemetery. A meal will be held at the Talpa Community Center.
