Maxine Martinez

Maxine Martinez age 85, a resident of Valdez, NM passed away June 28, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eraclio and Marcelina Martinez; husband Nick Martinez; son Joseph Martinez; siblings Philemon Martinez and Norbert Martinez. 

Maxine is survived by her children Michael, Rosella (Kenneth), Bernadette (Lee), and Anthony; grandchildren Vanessa, Daniel, Isacc, Jacob, Taylor, Marlee; great- grandchildren Azalia, Urijah, Makayla, Ivan and Gisselle; great-great grandchild Oliver; siblings Rosina (Melecio Apodaca), Ramona Bender, Erminio Martinez, Juanito Martinez and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Maxine was a resident of Valdez, NM, whom the community loved dearly, for her humbleness, kindness, selfless demeanor, her loyalty and her love for Jesus. She will always be remembered for her beautiful faith, beautifully lived, she loved mass, the blessed sacrament and would always pray. Her life was simple, she had a passion for flowers, watching them grow and watered them daily. A very simple sweet lady, didn’t care for fashion, just going to Mass with her tapalito or hats. Our mother found comfort and strength in praying and taught us to do the same. 

She loved her family dearly, she had many friends and enjoyed conversations and laughs with them. She made the most of life and had a great devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. 

Rosary will be recited on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 6pm at San Antonio de Padua Chapel, Valdez, NM. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Arroyo Seco, with burial to follow at the Valdez Cemetery.
