Melquiades Valentin Rael

Melquiades Valentin Rael entered into eternal rest on April 23, 2023, at the age of 46. Melky was born on Valentine’s Day, 1977.

Raised in Questa, New Mexico, he loved the mountains, a good lamb jam, watching movies, playing horseshoes, and making art. He was a hard worker, experienced cook, and a colorful storyteller. His sense of humor was unique, and he had the very best laugh. Perhaps the most profound of his qualities was his ability to connect with people. Melky was a son, a father, a brother, a nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend. Though he was not perfect, he was loved beyond measure.
