Michael C. Velarde

Michael C. Velarde, age 70, passed away on May 8, 2026, surrounded by family.

Michael lived a full and meaningful life, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. Many knew Michael for his business, Mike’s Appliances. Michael loved to be out in the mountains, he loved to hunt, fish, go trapping, and cook for family. He also enjoyed making and taste-testing his brandy for friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto & Carmen Velarde; His children, Ernestine Velarde and Michael (Mikey) Velarde Jr; and his Grand-daughter Miquela Velarde.

He is survived by the true love of his life, Maria Padilla; His kids Mark Velarde & Julie Velarde; Stepchildren SueAnn Vigil (Robert) and James Padilla (Jordan); His grandchildren, Ryan Vigil, Miranda Lucero, Naticia Lucero, Mark Velarde Jr., Jonathan Lucero, Leandra Montoya, Faith Velarde (Josiah), Arianna Maestas, Maleah Velarde (Damacio), Kandice Montoya, Jacob Velarde, Shawn Maestas, Adam Velarde, Angelique Velarde, Michael Velarde III, Alexiana Velarde, Alexis Rosales, Eastin Rosales, Robert Williams; His great-grandchildren, Maya Vigil, Rudy Cordova, Sienna Griego, and Eleanor Padilla.

He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the love he shared with family and friends.

Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will forever be cherished.
