Mina Fernandez

Mina Gloria Fernandez 83 years of age, a resident of Llano Quemado, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, surrounded by loving family on February 22, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her sons Luke Martinez and Mark Martinez; her mother Celina Montoya and father Alfredo Romero; and grandson Antonio Martinez Fernandez; siblings Eva Gonzales, Francis Casanova and Mike Romero.

Mina was a Caregiver for over 40 years, she was a proud and faithful servant of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness Congregation. She was a true Taoseña and was proud to be from Taos. Mina loved her family and friends, she treated everyone like family. She was an amazing cook and baker, her dishes were made with love, which was evident in each bite you took.

Mina is survived by her children Art Matthew Martinez, Hope Martinez, John L. Fernandez (Elaine), Paul Fernandez and daughter-in-law Monica Martinez; grandchildren Marcus (Maria), Margo (Isaiah), Luke Jr, Christina, Amber (Rob), Lorenzo, Gage, Paul Jr, Angel and Melanie; siblings Mary Martinez, Merlin Romero (Dolores), Edith Medina, Naomi Yanez (Ricardo), Casilda Estrada (Nerry) and Steve Romero (Nancy); many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11:00am in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.
