Mukta Webber

Mukta Webber, age 88, of Los Cordovas, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026.

Born on 5th December 1937 in Abbottabad, India she was the child of Major Doctor Hari Singh Maini and Inder  Kaur Maini.

She attended the University of Agra, India and Queens University, Canada where she earned her, BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees. She had a sterling career as a teacher, researcher, and inventor in cancer biology publishing more than a hundred peer-reviewed papers and books. She was Professor Emerita of Integrative Biology and Medicine at Michigan State University.

On retirement to Taos in 2005, she turned to her passion as an artist specializing in many forms of printmaking. Her work is in private collection throughout the world.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle Mala and is survived by her husband Patrick to whom she was happily married for 63 years.

We honor her wishes for no formal funeral or memorial service.
