Pastor Charley Leroy Rael II

Pastor Charley Leroy Rael II, 62, a resident of Talpa,  was called home to our heaven with Gods’ Angels on October 27, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charley Rael and Mary Baxter; father-in-law Florencio Pacheco; grandparents Eloy and Loretta Rael and Antonio and Anita Archuleta.

Pastor Charley was the Pastor of Mt. Zion Tabernacle for 20 years. He was a coach for Taos Little League for the following teams; Sisneros Body Shop with Johnny, the District Attorney’s Office, Corlett Sanchez Attorneys, CJ Stars with Joe Rivera, Conoco Gas Station, and Taos Gravel Products. He was also an All-Star Coach.  Charley loved to support his children in their sporting activities while in their youth.  He also ran the Giant Convenience Store and Gas Station for 25 years.  Charley loved to spend time outdoors, which included hunting and fishing.  His pride and joy were his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Florence Rael; children, Charley Leroy Rael III (Linda Medina), Ronnie Lee Rael (Mayra), and Jeremiah Rael; grandchildren, Usher Charley Rael, Logan Ronnie Rael, Aiden Florencio Rael; siblings, Loretta Lopez, Sadie Young (Bill), Tony Rael (Shirley), and Glenn Rael; mother-in-law, Maria Florida Pacheco; brothers and sister in law, Sammy and James Pacheco and Irene Duran (Lloyd);  godchildren, Usher Rael, Vanessa Rael, and Elijah Moses Rael; plus many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.
