Age 73 of Questa and originally of Amarillo Tx. Born on 2/22/50. Passed away unexpectedly on 05/21/23 during a short stay at a rehabilitation facility in Taos, NM Following surgery. He is preceded in death by his parents Calvin & Bettina Honea, brother Donald Honea & grandson Christopher. All originally from Amarillo, TX. He is survived by his wife of 19 years Nadine Marinelli whose he dated in the early 70’s, they had gone their separate ways and reunited later in life & married in 2004. He left behind his beautiful daughters, Sara Snyder, Katie Schulzee, Anna-lea Davis & grandchildren Jayden, Kayla, Georgia, Ayla & Emma and brother Calvin Honea jr. Ron was owner of Honea Motor Co. on historic Route 66 in Amarillo, Tx. In the 80’s and later in a lifetime of sales & management at various car dealerships. His early years included being a wrestler at Tascosa Highschool, a lifeguard at the public swimming pools, a boat mechanic, played the drums at various clubs in his 40’s. His disciplined life in his early years preceded his success as an adult. Ronnie loved classic cars and hot rods & was never happier when he was working on his 64’ Nova or taking it down the track at Amarillo Drag Way. Ron owned & sold many classic cars & was the proud owner of a 60’s spit window corvette. He legally changed his name to Ronald Honea Marinelli to honor his mother’s Italian Irish ancestry. Ron was a kind, caring & selfless husband & father who had a strong belief in God. It’s not the years we spend on earth but the love we share while here.
