A Lifetime Dedicated to Education
Rose devoted more than 43 years of her life to education, touching countless lives through her commitment to teaching, counseling, and serving her community. Her passion for education began immediately after graduating from high school, when she started her career as an educational assistant.
Driven by her dedication to learning and helping others, Rose earned an Associates of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, and a Master’s degree in Counseling where she graduated magna cum laude from Highlands University; and also receiving her administrative license.
Throughout her distinguished career, Rose served as both a teacher and counselor, teaching fourth, seventh, eighth, and ninth grades. Her compassion for students and her commitment to their success extended far beyond the classroom.
In 1999, Rose was hired as the Title I Director for Taos Municipal Schools. In 2005–2006, she advanced to the position of Director of Instruction. In 2010, she was entrusted with overseeing all federal programs for the Taos School District, reflecting the confidence placed in her leadership, knowledge, and dedication.
After an extraordinary career spanning 43½ years in education, Rose retired from Taos Municipal Schools on June 27, 2014. Her years of service represented more than a career; they reflected a lifelong commitment to improving the lives of children, supporting families, and strengthening her community. The impact she made on generations of students, educators, and colleagues will continue to be felt for years to come.
A Legacy of Love
Above all her professional accomplishments, Rose's greatest legacy was the love she gave to her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a cherished sister and aunt. Her life was defined by the relationships she nurtured, the wisdom she shared, and the countless ways she cared for those around her.
Although her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of her family and friends, they find comfort in the beautiful memories she created and the love that will forever bind them together. Her family takes comfort in knowing that Rose is now at peace in Heaven, reunited with her beloved daughter, Cindy, and her loved ones who went before her.
Rose's life was a testament to the power of love, perseverance, education, and service. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on through her family, the many lives she touched, and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
