She was born on February 8, 1941, to Eloy Herbert Quintana and Annie Selph Quintana in El Prado, New Mexico. Eleanor dedicated her life to caring for others. A passionate nurse and traveling nurse, her career took her across Michigan, Las Cruces, Colorado, and California. Her compassion extended far beyond her profession—she helped raise her beloved nephews, who cherished her as their “Grandma Nor-Nor,” and she offered love, companionship, and unwavering support to countless family members and friends. She loved reading, watching old westerns and old British comedies, traveling the world, and loved authentic cuisine.

Those who knew Eleanor will remember her big heart, her love of food, her free spirit, and the way she always walked to the beat of her own drum. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, care, and laughter.

The Quintana and DeHerrera family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Taos Living Center and Red Willow Hospice for the care and compassion they provided to Eleanor in her final years.
