Ruth Ann Gonzales

Ruth Ann Gonzales, 84, a resident of Las Colonias passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond Gonzales, parents James and Rosemary Ackerman, and sister Barbara. 

Ruth is survived by her children, Steven Gonzales, Sandra Acuna (Lorenzo), daughter, Susan Shober, daughter, Sheri Ann Pacheco (Augustin); her grandchildren, Zach Gonzales, Victoria Gonzales, Kristy Ann Weber, Jacob Ahlstrom, Matthew Ahlstrom, Cody Shober, Sara Shober, Lindsey Kay Van Zent, and John Flynn Roberts, her sister Sharon Johnson, plus many great grandchildren, nieces, other relatives and friends. 

Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. She was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, unwavering strength, and the unconditional love she gave to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a way of making people feel welcome, cared for, and loved, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.

Her beloved great granddaughter, Haylee Ray, was the light of her life and brought her immeasurable joy. Ruth treasured every moment they shared, and nothing made her smile more than spending time with Haylee. The love between them was truly special, and those memories will forever be cherished.

Rosary will be recited on Wednesday July 15, 2026 at 9am followed by the Funeral Mass at 10am at Our Lady of Guadulupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Las Cruces Cemetery.   A meal in honor of Ruth's life will be held afterwards at Taos County Economic Development Cooperation.
