Sammy Duran, 56, a resident of Culver City, CA, passed away on August 15, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his father Manuel Duran, brothers David and Clarence Duran, uncle Luis Vigil, godson Danny Duran and grand parents Jose Duran, Alfonso and Ofelia Vigil.
Sammy proudly served in the U.S. Army for 22 years, he worked for Chevron Gas for over 25 years and also worked with the family business, Duran Pool Service. He was a life long resident of Culver City, CA, but enjoyed coming to Taos and visiting his family and spending time in the mountains.
He is survived by his wife Michele, children Samuel, Joshua, Natalie, stepson Joseph Garza and stepdaughter Irene Dizon (Mack). Grand children Isaiah, Joshua Jr., Gabrielle, Joaquin, Joselyn, Kayden King, Wyatt, and Laila. He is also survived by his mother Irene Duran, brother Michael Duran, grandmother Feloniz Duran, godsons Raymond Valencia, Jesse Duran and Phillip Mercado, plus many other loving relatives and friends.
Rosary will be recited on Friday September 6th, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at San Francisco De Asis Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, September 7th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Talpa Cemetery with military honors.
