Thelma Montez

Mary Thelma Montez, age 61, a resident of Taos, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on  August 17, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather Vito Anglada; maternal grandmother Virginia Cardenas; paternal grandparents Adelia Trujillo and Silviano Trujillo; siblings Danny Paul Roybal and Victoria Anglada.

Thelma adored her family and was very involved in her community. She proudly served as member of the Sangre de Cristo Helping Hands, Taos Fiesta Council and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Thelma will be dearly missed by all whose heart she’s touched.

Thelma is survived by Albert Mondragon (Spouse); her mother Gloria Anglada; her father Ernest Trujillo (Irene); children Ronald Montez, Jr. (Madeline); Jacob Montez (Faith); Mariah Mondragon (Step-daughter); siblings Stephen Trujillo (Debbie), Brenda Velasquez (Bob), Rick Anglada (Charlene), Deedee Vigil (Ron) and Elias Hurtado; grandchildren Alexis Folsom, Antonio Montez, Aubrielle Montez, Marcus Montez, Cheyenne Montez and Kobe; special nephew Stevie Trujillo (Maria) and special niece Erika Trujillo; and many more nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 9:00am, Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00am held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church. Burial to follow at the Arroyo Seco Cemetery. A meal in Thelma's honor will be served after the burial at St. Joseph's Parish Hall.
