William Roland MacDonald

William Roland MacDonald (“Bill”), passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 23, 2026.

Born and raised in Laurel, MD, he is preceded in death by his father, William H. Roberts MacDonald, his mother, Martha Adkins MacDonald, and his sister, Martha Roberts MacDonald.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joan Humphreys MacDonald, two children: Martha Greer Jaramillo (Bob) and William Ives MacDonald (Kimber), four grandchildren: Samuel MacDonald (Gina), Maya MacSim (Dylan), Aidan MacDonald and Nadia MacDonald (Tiffany) and one great grandson: Kiran Ash. 

Bill was an attorney in Westminster, MD for 50 years before retiring and moving to Cerro to be near his family. He loved volunteering at Wild Rivers and becoming part of the Northern New Mexico community. 

Rosary will be recited on Monday August 31, 2026 at 6pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cerro. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday September 1, 2026 at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cerro with burial to follow at the Cerro Cemetery. 

Donations in Bill's honor may be made to Red Willow Hospice.
