Martin F. Baca a resident of Taos, NM passed unexpectedly and was taken to our Lord on December 31st, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his son Edward Baca; parents Viola and Fidencio Baca; infant sister Christina; brothers Alex and Luis Baca.  He is also preceded in death by in-laws Felonis and Max Mondragon; brothers-in-law Danny, Bonnie and Charlie; sister-in-law Barbara Mondragon, and God sister Anna DeVargas Garcia; and sons-in-law Frank Rivera and Joseph Martinez Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Maxine Baca.  Martin is also survived by son Martin John (Crystal), daughters Julie Rivera (Ricardo), Janet Martinez, Sara Sanchez (Leroy), and daughter-in-law Melecia.  He is also survived by his granddaughter, whom he raised like a daughter, Destiny (Isaiah).  Grandchildren Martin (Abby), Miah, Victoria, Frankie, Mia, Edward Jr., Joseph III, Cecilia, and Justine; great-granddaughters Leila, and Cordelia, Compadres, relatives, and many many friends.

Martin was a hard worker and loved his family very much.  With a heart of gold, always ready to help anyone in need.  He loved to joke and make people laugh.  But most of all he loved spending time with his family, and his dogs Canela, Rosie, and Boots the cat.  Martin was very much loved, and will be missed by all. Rest in paradise Martin and may you fly with the angels.

Public visitation will be held on Thursday January 6, 2022 from 3 to 4pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.  Rosary will be recited on Friday January 7, 2022 at 7pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 8, 2022 at 11am at San Francisco de Asís Catholic Church, followed by the burial at the New Llano Quemado Cemetery.
