Rudolfo Ortega

Rudolfo Ortega 98, a resident of Llano de San Juan, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his wife Felonis Ortega; parents Fileberto and Rosenda Ortega; siblings Juan Ortega, Jose Ortega, Ernesto Ortega, Andres Ortega, Dora Munoz, and Aurora Duran; sons-in-law Nelson Aguilar and William Vigil.

Rudolfo loved to spend time outdoors, el mero mero cowboy de Llano.  After many years of employment, he retired from the U.S. Forest Service.  Rudolfo loved going to the casino and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children Julia Ortega, Betty Romero (Norberto), Erlinda Romero (Bianes), Gilbert Ortega (Mary), Virginia Vigil, Joe Ortega (Inez), Jr. Lujan (Terry) and Rita Segura; grandchildren Ivan Aguilar (Florence), Andrew Aguilar, Joey Romero, Marvin Romero, Billy Romero, Jimmy Romero, Reyna Misakian (James), Loretta Rodarte (Steve), Brian Ortega, Wesley Vigil (Ashley), Crystal Vigil (Manuel), Marie Ortega, Kimberly Ortega, Jerome Ortega, Teddy Lujan, Timothy Lujan and Nicolas Lujan; 24 great-grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited on Tuesday June 29, 2021 at 7:00pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.  Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday June 30, 2021 at 11:00am at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco, with burial to follow at the Llano de San Juan Cemetery.
