Tive Tafoya

Tive Tafoya age 88, a resident of Costilla, passed away on February 6, 2021.

She was born on September 8, 1932 and was preceded in death by her parents Amarante and Anita Jacquez; her husband Eleuterio Tafoya and infant son Nick and infant daughter Aurora; son Richard Tafoya and daughter Anita Drum; siblings Mary Tafoya, Frances Trujillo, Cleo Gonzales, Gilbert Jacquez, and son-in-law Lawrence LaCombe.

Tive was a loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed cooking and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.  She was very proud of her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Tive is survived by her children Mickie LaCombe, Nick Tafoya (Patsy), Ernest Tafoya (Olivia), Susan Sanchez (Philip), Bernie Tafoya (Kathy), Amarante Tafoya (Carolyn); son-in-law Tim Drum; sister Loretta Cisneros; 25 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, distant relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be held on Thursday February 11, 2021 at 12:00PM, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Costilla, Rosary will be recited at 1:00PM, the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:00PM.  Burial will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Costilla.   Due to COVID 19 restrictions, limited seating will be available.
