Obituary

Our precious Uvaldo Valentin Lopez Jr. also known as “Juny” to the family and “UV” to friends was born in Taos, NM on February 25, 1975 to Uvaldo Sr. (Frenchy) and Elsie Lopez.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Jose Nick Sr. and Mercy Struck, paternal grandparents Marcos and Esther Lopez, and aunt, Christine Struck Gonzales. He attended Taos High School and graduated in 1993. He graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology in Phoenix Arizona in 1996. He was well known by many from his previous and current employment; Ogelvies, Apple Tree Restaurant, Taos Mountain Satellite, Taos Ski Valley and currently a GF8 Engine Captain with the US Forest Service since 1996. UV is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Karrie I Gallegos Lopez and loving son Diego A. Lopez; their dog “Moses” his walking companion; parents, Uvaldo Sr. and Elsie Lopez; his older sister, Veronica M. Lopez-Gonzales (Marty); niece, Camilia ‘Milly” Gonzales (Gabe); great nephew and niece, Alfonso and Alycia Gonzales-Vigil; cousins he considered his sister and brother, Natalie Struck (Andy) and Jose Nick Struck III (Denise); uncle Jose Nick Struck Jr, (Diana), uncle Erwin Lopez (Margaret); aunts, Luisita Ackley, Cecilia Chavez, Bernadette Garcia, Josefita Lopez Khosravi (Amir), and Anita Lopez; and uncle Robert Gonzales; plus many other loving relatives and friends. Services are pending at this time and will posted as soon as they become available.
